Previous Meetings

The 41st POMs was held on November 1-3, 2013, at Concordia University, in Montreal, Quebec. It was organized by Heidi Muchall, with the help of Denise Koch, Philippe Archambault, Stephen Boateng and Gilles Peslherbe.

POMs had its 40th incarnation on November 2-4, 2012.  It was held at Queen's University, Kingston, ON, ably organized by Jean-Michel Nunzi, his wife Gabriela Nunzi and graduate student Thomas Kraft.  There were 60 participants who provided 22 posters and 26 talks.  The meeting opened with the 2012 J. Phys. Org. Chem. Award Lecture, given by Shih-Yuan Liu of the Department of Chemistry, University of Oregon.  The POMs 2102 website was - here.

The 39th POMs was held in London, Ontario, on November 4-6, 2011. It was expertly organized by Peter Guthrie of the University of Western Ontario, assisted by his charming wife Muriel, and his colleague, Mark Workentin. Here is a link to the - POMs 2011 website.

The 38th POMs was held on November 12-14, 2010, at the University of Guelph, Ontario. It was organized by Richard Manderville and Katie Schlitt, and there were 99 registrants. The program included 44 posters and 24 oral presentations. In part, the meeting was dedicated to the memory of Jerry Kresge. Here is a link to the - 38th POMs website.

POMs was held for the second time at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo on November 13-15, 2009.  The 37th POMs was skillfully organized by Tina Amyes and John Richard.  The website link was - here.  Details of the program are available - here.  Tina has posted many photographs - here.

Tito Scaiano's group at the University of Ottawa hosted the 36th POMs, held on November 14-16, 2008.  The website is no longer accessible.

The 35th POMs was held at the University of Waterloo, ON, on November 9-11, 2007.  It was organized by Monica Barra (Waterloo) and Ken Maly (Wilfrid Laurier U.).  A report of the meeting can be found - here.

POMs # 34 was held in the Departement de chimie, U. de Montreal, on November 10-12, 2006. It was organized by Jeff Keillor (now at U of Ottawa), Will Skene (U de M) and Michelle Chretien (then of Concordia University). The 33rd POMs was held at McMaster University, in Hamilton, ON, November 11-13, 2005. The organizers were: Nick Werstiuk, Paul Berti, and Willie Leigh. There is a report of the meeting to be found - here,  as well as some candid photos - here.

The 32nd POMs was held at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, on November 12-14, 2004, and very good it was too! It was skillfully organized by Bob Lemieux and friends. The website link is still -   here, I think.  To see some delicious photos be sure to click - here.

The 31st POMs was held on November 7-9, 2003 in the Department of Chemistry, University of Toronto. It was superbly organized by Sue and Bob McClelland.  There were ~80 registrants, 23 talks and 25 posters. The Banquet that was held in Hart House was especially fine.  The website was - here.

The 30th POMs was held on November 1-3, 2002, in Windsor, Ontario.  It had been organized by Phil Dutton, Holger Eichhorn and Jim Green of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Windsor.

The 29th POMs was held on November 2-4, 2001, at York University, in Toronto.  The chief organizer was Ed Lee-Ruff and about 120 people attended.

The 28th POMs was held for the first time at Concordia University, Montreal, on November 3 - 5, 2000.  It was organized by Ossie Tee, Heidi Muchall and Jeff Keillor (then at U de Montreal).  For more incriminating details please consult the - 28th POMs report.

The 27th POMs was organized by Monica Barra (Waterloo) and Adrian Schwan (Guelph), and it was held at the University of Guelph, ON, on November 5-7, 1999.  More details can be found in the - 27th POMs report.

In 1998, a POMs meeting took place in the USA for the first time. The 26th POMs was held at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo, on November 6 - 8, 1998.  It was organized by John Richard and Tina Amyes. There were over 100 registrants. For more details see - the 26th POMs report.
